In June 1978, Cherry recorded the album Music/Sangam in Paris with Indian tablaist Latif Khan. This new variation on the time-honored "east meets west" formula is especially noteworthy for the hypnotic B-side and the tracks "Rhythm 58 ¼" and "Sangam", where Don and his electronic keyboards take over Terry Riley's field, while Khan shows off the extraordinary mobility of his hands.
