Women in the jazz world of the fifties are rare and are often singers. They are even rarer when they are instrumentalists. Some of them managed to impose themselves in this very masculine world and this is the case of the pianist and arranger Mary Lou Williams. She competes here with all the great pianists of the bop era. This 10" record in trio piano - double bass (Buddy Banks) - drums (the French Jean-Louis Viale) was released almost seventy years ago and its music remains timeless. It is in very nice condition for its age.
